Travel to Europe on the Rise
According to a recent article from Italian newspaper “Mattino di Salerno”, there has been a noticeable increase in the tourists that travel to Europe. It looks like Northern Europe continues to charm tourists since the number of visitors is on the rise. The newspaper reports the tourist profile that has seen the biggest increase has been couples between 35 and 40 with children.
The Northern European countries that have seen the biggest increase in visitors are England, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. When tourists travel to Europe on holiday they, on average, spend between €400 and €450 a day, including overnight stays.
Nicknamed the holiday of the “Vikings”, these popular northern destinations have been proven to have exceptional food, seaside locations, views and attractions. Furthermore, visitors have cited the cultural influences, archaeological sites and artistic events as key attractions.
Another European location that has also seen a big increase in tourism is Italy, particularly Salerno and the Amalfi Coast. This increase has, understandably, resulted in travel agents and hotel owners looking to the future with optimistic predictions.
Italian hotel association Ferderalberghi reported on the increase in rooms sold this year. They noted a large number of their business also came from the Cilentan Coast. This Italy association has predicted that, in the coming holiday seasons, Italy can offer even more enticing and interesting activities.
